The Mohawk Valley Inn began as a center-hall colonial in Schoharie, New York, around 1817. Its Dutch-style frame was cut and joined by hand, and those same beams now stand over each suite.
Restoration Living took the house down, moved it to Texas, and rebuilt it at The Domain at Halbert in Waco, just down the road from the Homestead Heritage Craft Village, with a Southwest Territorial-style exterior. The work was featured on Magnolia Network's Restoration Road with Clint Harp.
There are four suites, each named after a corner of New York: the Catskill, the Adirondack, the Erie Canal and the Hudson. Book one for a quiet getaway, or take the whole house and bring everyone.
We'll post news, seasonal events from the village, and stories from the restoration here. Thanks for stopping by.
